Jun-Ichi Ohara, M.D., Ph.D. is a ABIM Board Certified gastroenterologist (ABIM: American Board of Internal Medicine).
After leaving University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where he was a research associate professor, Dr. Ohara started private practice in southern California in 1996.

Therefore services rendered in Odyssey ASC Endoscopy Center will be covered by Medicare.
Odyssey ASC Endoscopy Center also has contract(s) with many other private insurances such as Aetna, Blue Shield, Cigna/Great West, United Healthcare, Nippon Life Insurance, AARP, TriCare for Life, TriCare West.

This is a preparation area for endoscopy procedure(s). It is clean and bright.
Patients will change clothes here and be prepared for the procedures: then the bed will be moved to an another procedure room.
Patients will be back to this area after procedure(s) and his/her recovery will be monitored closely.
Odyssey ASC Endoscopy Center was designed and constructed by an architect and his construction company specializing in Ambulatory Surgery Center. Therefore the preparation area is well equipped for emergency situation.
Dr. Ohara and all nurses have been trained for emergency situation and holds cardiac life support certification.
This is a picture taken just prior to upper GI endoscopy. The procedure room is spacious and well equipped．

As described above the facility is designed by an architect specialized in Ambulatory Surgery Center, the procedure room is well equipped.
Patients have painless procedure(s) in safe environment, as same as in a hospital.
Our facility fee claimed to insurance company is much less compared to that from hospitals.
Therefore, our service is simply faster, less hectic, safe, and less expensive.
The endoscope is disinfected using an automated reprocessing machine with specialized enzyme wash solution and powerful germicidal aldehyde solution.
All other materials beside the endoscopy is used only once and then discarded.
Preventing infection is a high priority. Therefore we pay keen attention in all aspects of our practice in order to prevent infection.
One of our nurses will take every patient to the front area of Odyssey ASC Endoscopy Center in order to assist the patient's pick up.
Patients are followed up for a few days after the procedure.
Dr. Ohara has a clinic office (suite#170A) next door to Odyssey ASC Endoscopy Center (suite#175) where he see patients as a gastroenterology specialist as well as a general internist from Monday through Saturday every week.
It is demanding task for health care providers to serve for patients every Saturday, however, we have been doing this since 1996 when our clinic was begun based on our mission of "serving for people".
